Conflict Simultations of Australia
Conflict Simulations produced the magazine Breakout! and one AD&D module "Bad Moon".
Breakout!
I do not have all the issues of Breakout! at this stage and the following information was kindly provided by David SignorelliBREAKOUT! was quarterly (approximately) magazine that was mainly a boardgame orientated, but it did have some RPG material in it especially towards the end issues. Issue 1 was Apr-Jun 1981. The first 5 issues were small (about folded A4 - A6?). Issues 6 to 20 were about 2.5-3 cm short of A4. Thereafter they were about A4. Issues were numbered up to 44 (also designated Volume 12 Number 1 Dec 91-Mar 91). I found one further normal format issue designated Volume 12 number 2 (issue 45). There were also 2 special editions for a total of 47 issues.
At Cancon in 1996, there was a copy of a Europa newsletter entitled "BREAKOUT!" #48 (dated Dec 1995 - made up of 2 A3 pages folded for an 8 page A4 newsletter). It is clear that the format changed from general gaming magazine to Europa only after issue 45. I assume 45 is the last magazine format issue but it could have been 46 or 47. I don't know if it continues in its newsletter format.
Here is a list of the Breakout! and a description of roleplaying articles in each.
